What we keep, and why

Visiting the website

Reading these pages needs no account and sets no cookie. Like any web server, ours sees your address and browser when you ask for a page, and its log keeps the address.

Listening in the app

To listen, you sign in with your email address, on a phone or a computer. We keep:

• Your email address, to send you sign-in links. We send nothing else to it.
• Your device, as a random key the app creates, which we store only in a form that cannot be turned back into the key, together with the browser's identification string (its User-Agent). This is how a sign-in link can only log in the device that asked for it.
• The network and browser of each sign-in request, for a short time, to stop the sign-in from being abused.
• Your place in the book, chapter by chapter, so any device you sign in on picks up where you stopped, and which chapters you played and for how long.
• Any rating or review you choose to leave.

Signing in sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in on that device. It is not used for anything else.

What we don't do

We don't sell or share any of this, and we don't use it to advertise to you.
